Information sharing (my favorite web, food, tourism, etc ... and a bit of everything) and new technologies
For specific needs, this weekend, I have reinstalled Windows Vista on my laptop .
Nothing frightening yet I bisects my hard drive (some for Ubuntu and one for Vista), Vista installation from the CD, install Service Pack 1 (more than 430Mo, it is rather an OS a pack) to improve performance, security, etc.. and at the end I have installed various hardware drivers (wifi, sound card / graphic ...) from the Asus CD that came with the computer.
In the end, it took several hours of installation, performing reboots repeatedly, etc.. and performance will require ironing (for me anyway):

I've had no problem, nor al installing Vista a year ago full version or SP1 or for everything happened quickly and easily (though France Telecom making no effort, to 5 kms avignon, we only have the 1 meg) The only thing you need a good computer because vista uses, and make updates in XP all regular programs.

Updating to SP1 has not been a problem in either (except the 430 MB download).
But, it's using Microsoft Windows Update for the Microsoft KB related tools installed (SQL Server, VS2008, Visio), and KB Security for Windows Vista SP1. Very poor management of the chaining example KB.

I still downloaded faster compared to the SP1 installation time ...
Otherwise generally no problem to install, just that it's super long, and I think my machine bought last week is pretty much up for not asking bp.

Yeah, this is called creating demand ... The constructors are as much to blame as the publisher of the OS.
